MCA Academic Collection

A Visual Research Library for Universities, Libraries & Academic Institutions 
The MCA Academic Collection is an extensive visual archive created to support teaching, research and academic discovery in the fields of architecture, archaeology, art, history, religions, cultures and
 world heritage. 
Developed through decades of field photography, filmmaking and archaeological documentation, the collection brings together more than 700,000 original images, 150,000 video clips and 3,927 narrated films documenting archaeological sites, monuments, museums, historic cities, works of art, sacred places and cultural traditions from around the world. 
Unlike a conventional image library, MCA is organized as a multidisciplinary academic resource. Content can be explored by geographical location, historical period, architectural style, archaeological context, 
artistic subject, religion, culture and monument type, allowing students and researchers to discover connections across places, periods and civilizations. 
The collection is especially suitable for universities, academic libraries, architecture schools, archaeology and art-history departments, museums, researchers, educators and cultural heritage institutions.
 Faculty can enrich lectures with original visual material, students can explore places and monuments beyond the textbook, researchers can locate material for comparative study and publication, and libraries can provide a single visual resource serving multiple academic departments. 
The MCA Collection was created by Samuel Magal — archaeologist, photographer and filmmaker — and is based on extensive original field documentation carried out at archaeological sites, museums and cultural heritage locations around the world.
